Shell’s Prelude floating liquefied natural gas vessel is being commissioned ahead of targeted production start-up this year, with the Anglo-Dutch supermajor maintaining that it expects to see cash flow from the Australian project in 2018, writes Amanda Battersby.
The 488-metre long FLNG unit deployed on the Prelude field off Western Australia last month received a commissioning cargo of LNG from Shell’s LNG carrier Gallina and the vessel is now undergoing activities including cooling down of the storage tanks.
