NORWEGIAN operator Statoil is understood to have made a discovery at its Power Nap deep-water probe in the US Gulf of Mexico and is now weighing options for its potential development.
Multiple sources have told Upstream that the well was successful, with one saying Statoil “logged pay”.
Statoil said it is currently analysing the results at Power Nap. The well was permanently plugged and abandoned last month, according to US records.
