Argentine state-led oil and gas producer YPF posted a steep year-on-year gain in shale production in the second quarter even as the company grappled with volatility and weak gas demand in its business, writes Kathrine Schmidt.
YPF said shale output in the three months to June amounted to 82,400 barrels of oil equivalent per day, a gain of 47.9% compared to the same period last year.
