During its first two land sales of 2009, the province has picked up momentum by generating nearly C$42.5 million (US$33.7 million) to date. During the same period in 2008 land sales were only C$25.9 million.

While total sales are higher year-on-year, it has a lot of ground to make up. Since peakin g in 2005, which reported a record C$1.82 billion in sales, the province has been on a steady decline.
