The Canada-Newfoundland & Labrador Offshore Petroleum Board is inviting comments on the scope of a strategic environmental assessment (SEA) process off Labrador.

This SEA — updating an earlier study from 2008 — aims to offer a broad-based approach on how upstream activities may affect the environment of Labrador’s continental shelf, where an estimated 4.2 trillion cubic feet of gas has lain untapped for decades in five legacy discoveries. The
