The deal between pump specialist Flowserve and underwater contractor Subsea 7 brings together a large US manufacturer and an offshore contractor highly experienced in subsea arch-itecture, control systems and installation.
The two companies are already working together on a programme to qualify Flowserve's multiphase pump for water depths to 1500 metres, as part of a joint industry project (JIP) led by Total and also including Statoil and BP.
