Subsea 7 aims to carry out repairs next April to a damaged section of the Sole gas pipeline off south-east Australia.
The contractor recently successfully installed the 65-kilometre pipeline but then identified an anomaly in the form of a through wall thickness opening at one location during hydrotesting.
Subsea 7 then removed the damaged section of pipeline and successfully completed a hydrotest that "confirmed the capability of the pipeline to retain the required pressure and is an important step in preparing the pipeline for permanent repair", said Sole project owner Cooper Energy.
