French offshore contractor Technip is the latest player to jump into the ring, having brought in its new flexible pipelay vessel Deep Orient, to concentrate solely on the buoyant Asia Pacific market.
The vessel, delivered 10 months ago from the Metalships & Docks yard in Vigo, Spain, arrived in the port of Tanjung Langsat, Malaysia, in late November. Its owner is confident that Deep Orient will be kept busy in Asian waters for the foreseeable future.
