Alliances and joint ventures have evolved into a core business model in the subsea sector and now those partnerships are hoping to apply their collaborative model to their work with operators.
Executives at FMC Technologies and Technip, which teamed up to create Forsys, said the results have exceeded their expectations even as operators curb work on major offshore projects.
“We have actually over-achieved in terms of the objectives that we set ourselves for our joint venture with FMC Technologies and the Forsys Subsea joint venture,” Technip chief executive Thierry Pilenko recently told investors, pointing to a recent award for work on Statoil’s Trestakk field as one example.
