London-based Tullow Oil has had a major success in Kenya after its Etom-2 probe hit two major oil columns holding the best quality reservoirs yet discovered in Kenya’s South Lokichar basin.
The result opens up significant further potential in the basin which, if proven by drilling, would boost resources held in the South Lokichar development from the current estimate of 600 million barrels to about 1 billion.
