Carigali, the exploration and production arm of the Malaysian national oil company, has just issued tender documents to offshore fabricators for an 8000-tonne central processing platform.
Sources said it is likely the bidders will be locally-registered players including Malaysia Marine&Heavy Engineering (formerly Malaysia Shipyard&Engineering), Sime Darby Engineering (formerly Sime SembCorp), Ramunia Fabricators and HL Engineering.
Malaysian local content rules make it necessary for an overseas company to form strategic alliances with Malaysian companies.
