Japanese trading house Sumitomo is to build a new liquefied natural gas receiving and regasification facility in Ehime prefecture, Japan.

Sumitomo plans this financial year to start work on the 60 billion yen ($541 million) to 70 billion yen project that will also involve a gas-fired power plant.

The Japanese company will operate the plant on behalf of compatriots Tokyo Gas and Shikoku Electric Power Company, with which it will form a new consortium.
