South Korea’s Samsung Heavy Industries and Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering are said to be the likeliest candidates to secure the prestigious jobs of building the giant processing platform and riser platform topsides at Johan Sverdrup, although US contractor McDermott, through its Dubai facility in the Middle East, and Sembcorp Marine (SMOE) are seen as tough competitors.
