The facilities involving a jetty, storage tanks and export pipeline will be located at Keelung city on the northern tip of the island, close to one of its gas-fired power plant under expansion.
Sources said the project will cost TW$40 billion (US$1.24 billion) to build in two phases and will eventually have a receiving capacity of 1.4 million tonnes per annum by 2030.
