Preliminary logging results indicated an 11-metre gross hydrocarbon interval in the primary Toro reservoir target, plus another unexpected 12-metre gross column in the overlying Elevala sand.
New Guinea Energy said detailed wireline logging would be acquired to interpret the significance of the hydrocarbon indications, and results would be out as they came to hand.
