The western side of the Nam Con basin has a number of producing gas fields in relatively shallow water, most notably BP’s Lan Tay and Lan Do fields.
By contrast, the eastern side of the basin is in unexplored deep water, and this is where Talisman is placing its bets on sizeable gas finds.
It believes there is up to 15 trillion cubic feet gross of prospective reserves across its acreage with oil upside too.
