Privately-owned operator Tamarind Resources has suspended offshore drilling operations at its Tui oilfield in New Zealand due to slow and expensive progress so far, writes Russell Searancke.
Tamarind contracted the semi-submersible COSL Prospector for a programme of three firm wells expected to take about 110 days starting in late June.
However, only one well has been drilled, which was dry.
