The seismic programme comprised 60 line kilometres of 2D and 118 square kilometres of 3D data. Results of the processing are expected by the end of the year and appraisal drilling is expected in the second quarter of 2010.
Block M, which is the largest onshore block in the sultanate, covers about 3011 square kilometres in the Baram Delta basin. The block plays host to the Belait oil and gas field but has seen little exploration, particularly in the past two decades.
