Calgary-based midstream giant TC Energy has no current plans to build natural gas pipelines in the Permian basin in the US states of Texas and New Mexico, where a number of new pipeline projects are being developed to help relieve a massive production glut in the region, writes Caroline Evans.

The company is more focused on its assets in the massive Appalachian basin of the north-eastern US and the Western Canadian Sedimentary basin, said Stan Chapman, TC Energy's president of US natural gas pipelines.
