Contractors TechnipFMC and Saipem both posted profits in the third quarter and made sizeable backlog additions on strengthening offshore and international business.
London-based TechnipFMC, however, recorded a narrower profit over the period as the company began to feel the impact from the slowing North American onshore sector, prompting a guidance cut.
The contractor, which announced plans earlier this year to separate into two companies via the spinoff of its onshore/offshore division fuelled by liquefied natural gas projects, posted net income of $21.8
