The Deep Blue was scheduled to arrive at the Technip spool base in Theodore, Alabama, near Mobile, around mid-December.
The K2 project is the first job lined up for the vessel in the US Gulf since its pending arrival.
K2 is located in Green Canyon block 562 in around 4000 feet of water. About 13 kilometres of pipe-in-pipe will be laid to connect the subsea clusters to the TLP.
