Tenaris is betting almost $2 billion that it can revolutionise the oilfield tubulars industry in the US with a state-of-the-art seamless pipe mill and a new distribution system to give shale players the pipe they need, when they need it.
On the edge of Bay City, Texas, Tenaris’ newest pipe mill rises 80 feet above the Gulf Coast plain and, beginning in June 2017, it will supply 600,000 tonnes per annum of seamless oil country tubular goods (OCTG) to the US market.
