Epic, based in Harvey, Louisiana, with an office in Houston, operates a fleet of vessels and provides diving services in the Gulf of Mexico, including saturation diving down to 1000 feet below sea level.
The 34 year-old company has around 250 employees.
In a prepared statement Tetra president and chief executive Geoffrey Hertel cited "unprecedented demand for diving services" around the world as a reason for the deal.
