Thai Nippon Steel nets lucrative PTTEP platforms prize

Thai Nippon Steel has secured a lucrative multi-year contract to build wellhead platforms for Thailand’s upstream oil and gas company PTTEP.

Up to seven hungry offshore fabricators in South-East Asia had been vying for the “PTTEP Bundle Platforms” contract, which is understood to cover up to 25 wellhead platforms over several years.

Sources indicated previously that Thai Nippon Steel was up against Thailand‘s Cuel, China’s Offshore Oil Engineering Company, PetroVietnam Technical Services Corporation, Gunanusa of Indonesia and Malaysia’s SapuraKencana, and possibly one or two other contractors.
