US OPERATOR ConocoPhillips has confirmed it plans to shut down the Theddlethorpe Gas Terminal (TGT) in Lincolnshire by the end of the next year.

The move raises questions about the future of a number of producing UK southern North Sea gas fields.

ConocoPhillips is currently forecasting that final production through TGT, located near Mablethorpe, will occur by the end of next year, a spokeswoman said.
