US giant McDermott, China’s Offshore Oil Engineering Corporation (COOEC) and Abu Dhabi’s National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC) are battling it out for an engineering, procurement and construction contract for a new platform topsides for Qatar Petroleum’s North Field Alpha complex.
Sources close to the development told Upstream that the three offshore players submitted bids to Qatar Petroleum this month following a few deadline extensions.
