Premier Oil has its sights on three contractors as it works to line up a high-spec rig to carry out exploration drilling for a group of operators in Brazil’s frontier Ceara basin, potentially starting in 2017.
UK independent Premier is leading a rig-sharing club on behalf of other operators in the Ceara basin, including ExxonMobil, Total and Chevron.
On behalf of the group, it is seeking a rig to drill for a period of 650 days and to spud a total of seven firm wells.
