Abu Dhabi-based Al Yasat Petroleum Operations Company has selected three leading international contenders to compete in a design competition for its $1 billion Belbazem offshore development.
Project watchers said Al Yasat recently finalised the list of three players that will carry out front-end engineering design work on the offshore development project over the next five to six months.
Those thought to be among the selected players include a consortium comprising Abu Dhabi’s National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC) with UK-listed Petrofac, another group involving UK-based TechnipFMC with China’s Offshore Oil Engineering Company (COOEC) and US giant McDermott, industry sources said.
