Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) has chosen three groups to battle for a front-end engineering design contest covering its $1.5 billion-plus Umm Shaif gas cap project.
Project observers said Adnoc has awarded FEED contracts to three players for the fast-track project.
The FEED contest is likely to begin later this month and will eventually lead to the award of a prized engineering, procurement and construction contract to one of the participating contractors.
