The umbilicals will help control 25 subsea wells that will be tied back to the Thunder Horse field's semi-submersible platform. The semisub is scheduled to be installed at Mississippi Canyon block 822 in March 2005 in a water depth of 6050 feet.
Subsea 7 anticipates using the same vessel for a similar scope of work on BP's Atlantis field in 2006.
