Total drilling a third well at its Lapa field

France's Total is moving at a fast pace with drilling activities in the Lapa pre-salt field off Brazil, writes Fabio Palmigiani.

The company began the drilling of a third well on 1 September at the field, just two and a half months after starting a four-well programme in Lapa.

The new campaign is taking place in 2148 metres of water with the drillship Valaris DS-9, formerly the Ensco DS-9.
