Industry sources said the operator put feelers out into the market last month and expects the start of an official tender process for the steel jacket of a large wellhead platform to be “just around the corner”.
This package, said sources, is expected to cover a 2800-tonne jacket plus 1600 tonnes of piles.
Contract award is due in the first quarter of 2010, targeting installation in the second quarter of 2011, a schedule described by one source as “fairly fast”.
