France's Total has started production from the challenging $4 billion high-pressure, high-temperature Culzean development in the UK central North Sea.
Total, which operates the project on 49.99% alongside partners BP, on 32%, and JX Nippon, on 18.01%, said first gas had been achieved on time and below budget.
An hour’s helicopter flight from Aberdeen, Culzean is pushing equipment and materials close to their technological limits.
