France's Total is evaluating initial responses to a request for expressions of interest covering a key contract to provide engineering, procurement and construction services for a marine storage and export facility at the terminus of the $3.5 billion East Africa Crude Oil Pipeline (Eacop) project.
Eacop will transport up to 216,000 barrels per day of heated oil about 1445 kilometres from the Lake Albert oilfields near Hoima, Uganda to the port of Tanga in Tanzania.
