France's Total has filed an exploration plan to drill a well on acreage south of the North Platte discovery in the deep-water US Gulf of Mexico, writes Kathrine Schmidt.
The operator made the request to drill on Garden Banks 1003, the same block where Cobalt International Energy filed a plan in 2014 to drill the South Platte prospect.
Full details on Total’s latest plan filed this month are not yet public, but the drillsite lies in 4411 feet of water.
