Total is aiming to boost its equity liquefied natural gas production by around 50% by the middle of the next decade.

The French major is aiming for a target of 20 million tonnes per annum of equity LNG output by 2020, with trading accounting for around half of current production.

Chief financial officer Patrick de La Chevardiere said late last week that the company is also aiming for equity production of around 30 million tpa by 2025, suggesting that trading may also account for around half this total.
