Total has revealed details of some difficulties faced during the execution of the Ichthys liquefied natural gas project, and suggested it may not participate in any further major projects in Australia, writes Russell Searancke.
Arnaud Breuillac, the company's president for exploration and production, compared the experiences of the Ichthys project with the Yamal LNG project in northern Russia.
Speaking to analysts last week, Breuillac said the Yamal project was notable for having "strong supervision, good contractors and good logistics".
