Total Exploration & Production UK is planning to drill an exploration well on the Ballechin prospect in the West of Shetland area as it looks to prove up more gas to keep its Laggan-Tormore and Shetland Gas Plant (SGP) infrastructure running at full capacity, writes Rob Watts.
According to an environmental statement submitted to the UK authorities, Total could start work on an exploration well, located in Block 214/28a, 24 kilometres north-east of Laggan-Tormore, in July.
