Total will start fresh drilling on the block off South Africa containing its breakthrough Brulpadda discovery early next year after nailing down a rig charter, writes Eoin O'Cinneide.
The French supermajor has retaken the Odfjell Drilling-owned semi-submersible Deepsea Stavanger for the multi-well programme on Block 11B/12B in the Outeniqua basin.
Oslo-listed Odfjell said the firm charter is worth between $145 million and $190 million, inclusive of mobilisation and demobilisation costs.
