France's Total reckons an appraisal well due to be drilled in the second half of this year will be crucial in sizing up the Chevron-operated Ballymore discovery and in determining an ultimate development plan for the deep-water US Gulf discovery, writes Kathrine Schmidt.
Chevron currently has the drillship Pacific Sharav on site at Mississippi Canyon 434, the site of the US supermajor's Yarrow prospect, according to the US Bureau of Safety & Environmental Enforcement (BSEE).
