Chief executive Thierry Desmarest said his company was keen to take part in a planned liquefied natural gas project that would supply Asian markets. Gas supplies for the plant will come from phases 11 and 12.
TotalFinaElf has already made history in Iran by being the first foreign company to produce gas from South Pars. The third train of TotalFinaElf's development of South Pars phases 2 and 3 has just started feeding gas into the domestic network.
