Dwi Soetjipto, the recently appointed new chairman of Indonesia’s upstream regulator SKK Migas, is facing a challenging first few months after inheriting a backlog of unresolved matters from his predecessor Amien Sunaryadi.

Ministry of Energy & Mineral Resources Ignasius Jonan has wasted no time in making known his demands of the new SKK Migas head.

Dwi will need to implement measures to boost oil and gas production in the country and he has been tasked with finding players that will commit to significant fresh investment to take over expiring assets.
