The acreage is operated by TPDC and is located about 150 kilometres east of Mtwara. Bids must be submitted by 26 May.
Elsewhere off Tanzania, Statoil continues to drill ahead on its Tangawizi-2 appraisal well in Block 2.
The Tertiary-age Tangawizi find is one of eight gas discoveries the Norwegian player has made in the block which will feed an onshore liquefaction plant.
