Trans-Thai Malaysia makes its choices

The Trans-Thai Malaysia Company, an onshore joint venture between the Petroleum Authority of Thailand and Malaysia's Petronas, has issued letters of intent to a handful of contractors for work on an $800 million gas pipeline project in the Joint Development Area (JDA).

TTM is planning to build a 366-kilometre pipeline and a gas separation plant that will be fed by offshore gas from fields in the JDA, which is in the Gulf of Thailand.

As previously reported by Upstream, South Korea's Samsung Engineering received a letter of intent for a $180 million contract to build the gas plant in Songkhla province in southern Thailand.
