In December, Moscow Arbitration Court agreed the request of 75-year old Raylya Inozemtseva, who demanded the cancellation of the current Trebs & Titov licence and its return to Bashneft, which had won it back in 2010.

Inozemtseva, who has never appeared personally in court and always acted via her lawyers, holds 10 shares in Bashneft.

A Bashneft-Polyus representative alleged during last week’s hearings that “somebody is acting behind Inozemtseva with the goal to halt operations of the strategic oilfields”, holding an estimated 1 billion barrels of recoverable oil reserves.
