Trinidad & Tobago’s Energy Ministry has stepped up warnings to operators that they need to meet the committed work programmes on their acreage or risk having their blocks reclaimed by the government.
This came as recently appointed Energy Minister Nicole Olivierre laid out a series of initiatives aimed at helping the islands navigate the oil price bust.
Olivierre, who was appointed Energy Minister earlier this year when the opposition People’s National Movement took a majority in the national election, continued to push for measures that she believes maximise revenue to the state even as activity dwindles due to low prices.
