A trio of engineering contractors are preparing to submit bids early next month to Anglo-Dutch supermajor Shell to provide it with a floating, production, storage and offloading vessel for its Penguins redevelopment project in the UK North Sea.
Industry sources said that French giant Technip, Fluor of the US and Norway’s Kvaerner were set to put in commercial bids in the second week of June for the project, with a contract award expected in the fourth quarter in time for a final investment decision at the end of this year.
