The governor of Argentina’s Neuquen province at the heart of the Vaca Muerta shale has forecast that at least three major projects will enter the development phase in the basin this year, writes Kathrine Schmidt.
The increase will bring the total number of such projects in the area to 10, with even more potential on the horizon.
The projection from Neuquen Governor Omar Gutierrez echoes comments previously made by Shell, which said earlier this year it plans to move to an initial development phase at its Sierras Blancas, Cruz de Lorena and Coiron Amargo Sur Oeste blocks in 2019.
