They have each been carrying out front-end engineering and design work since late last year and will submit a lump-sum turnkey price in early 2014 for two initial trains along with specifics for two more trains.
The Afunji LNG plant, however, will have the capacity to support six further trains.
Industry sources said it will take Anadarko a number of months to evaluate the bids before making a decision on the preferred LNG construction contractor, pointing out that a contract award must be made in mid-2014 to meet the US operator’s 2018 start-up date.
