ExxonMobil has added to the resource base of more than 6 billion barrels of oil equivalent at its Stabroek block off Guyana after turning up a further discovery with the Tripletail-1 exploration well.
The probe found 33 metres of “high-quality oil-bearing sandstone reservoir” after being sunk by the drillship Noble Tom Madden in the Turbot area of the block, about five kilometres north-east of the Longtail find, the US supermajor said.
